Special Models

We have built many special model reels to fulfill many special purposes. If you are looking for a special type of cable reel solution, give us the challenge to develop it.

Big Berta

A special mobile model we created for
winding skeleton reels on the move.

Model 990

A special model used for test cables for submarine generators.

Stackable manual reel

A special model created for stackable
storage of cable reels.

Advantages of using Rewind cable reels.

Compact

No other reels on the market are as space effective as the Rewind cable reels. It is possible to fit 10-16 reels in one row at the rear end of a truck or trailer. No extra space is required for the support of the reels centre shaft.

Unroll Cable

The built-in friction of the bearings will prevent the cable from overrun when you stop pulling out cable. The reels will stop automatically after rewinding or unwinding. The cable won’t tangle on the reel, due to the reel retardation.

Rewind and Unwind

You can rewind and unwind as many cables as you like at the same time by engaging and disengaging any of the reels by means of the easy to use handle. Reels can be selected regardless of the rpm speed, giving maximum flexibility.

Maximum Torque

Each reel has its own pre-set maximum torque to protect the cable from damage if jammed or caught during rewinding. A 24 mm audio cable needs a lot more pulling force compared to a 6 mm fibre optic cable. You can adjust the maximum torque setting within 5 seconds on each reel.

Speed

The variable speed on our reels are 0-70 rpm with soft start for the operator’s comfort. Reels can be equipped with auto start at 45rpm which is suitable for power cable reels as an example. It is also fast to maneuver with the single 3 function handle mounted in the front.

Control panel

You can start rewinding by means of either a manual switch situated on the control panel or using a foot switch. Two control lamps are provided to indicate the choice. The rewind speed is set by a large turning knob, 0-70rpm. Automatic fuse and bypass switch for electronic speed control is standard. Large quality switches are fitted to allow operation when wearing gloves.

Three function handle

Each individual reel is fitted with a control handle that provides the following modes of operation:

LOCKED – This handle position applies a friction brake to the reels, locking it in any position.

FREE – Brake pad is removed allowing the reel to be rotated against the friction of the bearing. Now you can unroll cable.

RUN – Reel is steplessy engaged into fully driven mode, with the maximum speed controlled from the main control panel.

This ensures maximum safety as operators hands are kept clear of the rotating reels.

Colour indication of handle

The control handle is colour coded for easy identification. When the green side of the handle is visible´the reel is in either locked or free mode. When the red side of the handle is visible the reel is in run mode. This prevents the operator to start rewinding the wrong reel.

Quality Materials

All parts used in the frame and shafts are manufactured in stainless steel. The reels are manufactured from salt water resistant hard aluminium. The handles and other components are made of massive quality plastic. No mild steel means no rust!

Drum Width Calculator

This is for calculating the width of a single standard drum to get an estimation of the width required. The width of the reel will vary depending on multiple factors. Normally you add 65 mm for the drive between drums and 200mm for the motor, control panel and support brackets. For more precise width and details, contact us.
